Womens Apparel like Paz Vega

Posted on Tuesday 27 October 2009

Though she’s only recently stepped into the spotlight, Paz Vega has been a fixture among Spanish viewers for almost a decade. Paz Vega has appeared in such critically acclaimed foreign films as 2001′s Sex and Lucia, 2002′s

Talk to Her and 2002′s The Other Side of the Bed. Her North American breakthrough came out in 2004: Spanglish, written and directed by James L. Brooks, cast Paz Vega as a Mexican maid who comes to live with a rich American family, and there’s little doubt that the actress was more than able to hold her own opposite renowned stars Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni.

Paz Vega Pictures

She was born Paz Campos Trigo on January 2, 1976, in Seville, the Spanish town famous for Carmen and singing barbers. The slender and athletic Paz first dreamed of being a sports star and later aspired to politics. But at age 15, all it took was a day at the theater to cement her ambitions; a performance of La Casa de Bernarda Alba set her sights on acting for good. At 16, Paz left school and womens apparel patiently waited for the prestigious Centro Andaluz de Teatro acting school to accept her. The fact that she directed a Spanish play in the meantime certainly didn’t hurt.

After two years at the acting school and another two studying journalism, Paz moved to Madrid, where she sought fame. She changed her name to Paz Vega (her grandmother’s last name) and worked in bars while auditioning for every gig she heard about hair artiest. Her big break came on TV, where she appeared in three episodes of the Spanish series Menudo es mi padre.

Hot Model Daniella in Fashion Trends

Posted on Thursday 8 October 2009

all, toned and beautiful, Daniella Sarahyba represents a healthy alternative to the underfed waifs littering the world’s fashion runways.

Daniella Sarahyba Pictures

Daniella Sarahyba was a model child. Literally. The daughter of successful model Mara Lucia Sarahyba, Daniella appeared with her mother on the cover of the Brazilian magazine Pais & Filhos when Daniella Sarahyba was just three days old. That early experience in front of the cameras obviously agreed with her because Daniella began her career 12 years later when she started entering — and dominating — local modeling contests.

Daniella’s early success, along with her impressive pedigree, eventually helped her earn a coveted spot on the roster of IMG, the elite modeling agency fashion trends that also represents Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum. With IMG helping to steer her career, Daniella has since appeared in high-profile ads for Benetton, Calzedonia, C&A, Cia Maritima, Datelli, GAP Body, H&M, Michael Stars, Olympus, Peugeot, and Victoria’s Secret. Her sultry good looks have also been splashed across the covers of international magazines such as Nova, VIP, Corpo a Corpo, Boa Forma, Vogue Homem, Elle, and Romano. Although modeling has put her on the map, Daniella still hopes to make a name for herself on the small screen.

Her current ambitions include hosting her own talk show, managing a public relations firm and having a large family. Something tells us she’ll have no problem finding a personals sites man to help her out with the latter. She appeared in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and she is currently contracted under H&M, Spiegel and Benetton.

Actress Famous Miranda Kerr

Posted on Saturday 3 October 2009

In addition to her gorgeous looks and sultry demeanor, Miranda Kerr reportedly breaks the fashion trends supermodel stereotype by being quite friendly. Her down-to-earth qualities surely stem from her traditional upbringing, and it’s hard to disrespect someone in the modeling industry who still talks to her mother on a daily basis.

Actress Famous Miranda Kerr

Born in Sydney and raised in Brisbane, Australia, Miranda Kerr kick-started her modeling career in her early teens. Spurred on by the encouragement of her family and friends, Miranda fortuitously decided to enter the Dolly/Impulse Modelling Competition in 1997 when she was just 13 years old. She shocked everyone, including herself.

When she won the competition, but Miranda Kerr was completely surprised by the backlash that immediately followed her appearance in the Australian teen magazine Dolly. The media quickly turned Miranda’s winter-clothing pictorial into a debate regarding pedophilia and the acceptable age at which girls should start modeling.

Miranda Kerr pictures

Nonetheless, Miranda gracefully handled the controversy and parlayed her newfound notoriety into a burgeoning career. Miranda Kerr spent the next several years working virtually nonstop, appearing in advertisements for companies such as Levi’s and Baby Phat. She became a fixture within the pages of such illustrious publications as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, and she built a reputation as one of the most reliable and hard-working models on the scene.

Miranda’s actress famous profile raised exponentially when she landed a coveted gig as one of the faces of Maybelline, when she was chosen as the first Australian to model on the runway for Victoria’s Secret, and when she appeared opposite Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in the music video for “Number One.” Though Miranda Kerr remains active in the modeling world, she has made no secret of her desire to someday try her hand at acting. Hopefully, she’ll fare better than Cindy Crawford did in Fair Game.

Fashion Models Commercial Plus Modeling

NEW YORK — Crystal Renn was miserable as one of the super-thin fashion models who had heart palpitations when she’d worry there might be calories in Diet Coke.

Her moment of epiphany came when “I couldn’t walk another step without being exhausted, or having hair clumps falling out.” She knew she needed to live in the body she was supposed to have — specifically a curvy size 12.

In a new memoir “Hungry,” Renn, now plus modeling exposes her struggles with weight, health and self-esteem, fueled by the industry she says she still loves.

That is, she loves it now she has been accepted — even embraced — by the fashion models world.

“I got to my lowest point, when I couldn’t go lower, and it was either, ‘I’m going to die and not accomplish the dream,’ or, ‘I can become a beauty model in commercial modeling and keep the dream,’ ” she said in an interview. “I am healthy now, the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life — both physically and mentally.”

Writing “Hungry” with Marjorie Ingall for Simon & Schuster was an important part of the healing process, said Renn, 23.

She had told her story before, but always in a quick hit for some commercial modeling magazine celebrating the novelty of an hourglass shape on its pages. The book is her attempt to move the needle on how people — everyone from wide-eyed young girls to jaded fashion insiders — perceive beauty.

“I’d like to see everyone take on the attitude that there are fashion models and women of all different shapes and sizes as ‘the beauty ideal,’ and that it’s not one type or another. There are women who are naturally a size 2 — you can’t forget them, and that’s discrimination the other way,” Renn said. “All women bring something different to the table and we have to appreciate them all.”

Some in the fashion, modeling and magazine industries have been receptive to the idea, she said, noting she’s still working with her fuller figure in Vogue, Glamour, on the runway with Jean Paul Gaultier and in ads for Dolce & Gabbana.

It’s often not the typical “pretty girl” who makes the biggest splash anyway, she said, explaining that when a plus modeling scout first laid eyes on her as a chubby cheerleader, he was the only person other than her mother who said she was beautiful.

Hot Young Mature Elite Models

Posted on Wednesday 9 September 2009

For one star-studded evening, it seemed like the good old days of 2007 for the beleaguered  world. Designers, elite models and actresses strutted along the red carpet to honour the most powerful figure in their industry – Anna Wintour, the legendary British editor-in-chief of US Vogue.

They were attending last week’s glitzy elite premiere of The September Issue, a fly-on-the-wall documentary by film-makers given unprecedented access to the hallowed portals of the fashion bible and the famously formidable force that leads it.

Runway Fashion Modeling

Runway Fashion Modeling

Designers such as Vera Wang Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan and Sean “Diddy” Combs and fitness models actresses Sienna Miller and Renee Zellweger joined a clutch of statuesque models, assorted fashionistas and Manhattan power players for the splashy event.

Peering out from beneath her distinctive pageboy haircut and occasionally donning her young mature trademark dark sunglasses, Miss Wintour, 59, was also there, of course. She chose an orange Prada printed dress for her big night – clearly unconcerned by any comparisons with her fictional alter ego in the movie.

The viewing was followed by an exclusive private party where young male models served champagne and canapés to the A-list crowd.

And high-profile publicist Peggy Siegal has organised another celebrity-filled screening in the Hamptons, New York’s fitness models exclusive summer getaway, before the film opens at cinemas in the US this week and in Britain next month.

The behind-the-scenes young mature footage follows Miss Wintour and her team for eight months during 2007 as they put together the September issue – traditionally, the most important of the year as the magazine is packed with adverts aimed at autumn shoppers.

The edition turned out to be the biggest in interior design industry history, weighing in at a whopping five pounds and 840 pages, included 725 of glossy premium-cost ads. It confirmed the magazine’s behemoth status.

Little could Vogue’s editor or award-winning director RJ Cutler have guessed that what was being capturing for posterity was a high point in fashion and publishing before the two sectors were pummelled by the crash of 2008.

Those heady days already seem like a throwback to another, gilded era. Two years and one recession later, the new September Vogue has just hit the newsstands at 584 pages, of which 427 are ads – 40 per cent down on 2007 and 30 per cent down on last year.

It took us right where we all left off, with a new and interesting cast, our favorite elite judges and I can’t believe I am even saying this but Lindsay Lohan having guest judged on the premiere actually added a touch more of excitement to it all.   I guess we all love a hot mess, but regardless, I’ll never be a fan of her knee padded Leggings.  It’s just not my thing!

We also get to see a glimpse into the next week’s actress famous show as the designers choose which models they’ll get to work with the next week (a trend already: those who succeed to the following week generally stick to the same girl — not out of superstition but because they’ve already gotten to know the body type and strengths). Best of all, it’s only a half hour, which I hope starts a new trend in reality shows.

So what’s new this season is the mature models of the Runway after show. You now can get to know the models and of course get an inside look behind what the models go through. And guess what? We are all curious to know!  It’s a guilty pleasure to love America’s Next Top Model and Make me a Supermodel, and here’s just one more model show to give us what our guilty hearts want!

Thank you Lifetime for giving us back our weekly fitness model fashion fix.  Looking forward to the season ahead!! Can’t wait to see the drama, the fashion, and of course all of Heidi’s fabulous outfits!  But for now, read up on all the designers, all the gossip and all the models at From your Editor-in-Chic… I’ll see you on the streets!

All New Actress Famous Agency Models

Posted on Tuesday 1 September 2009

I am sitting here trying hard to imagine how it would feel should scores of designers, a mob of retailers and half the British high street ever decide to appropriate my personal style and sell it on to the masses. The first actress famous hurdle in this creative visualisation is that I’m finding it tricky to pinpoint what my style is.

Oddly, Carine Roitfeld says that this has been her agency models problem, too. “It’s true. Designers have told me that their collections are so me,” she says disarmingly when I call her at her office in Paris, “but I don’t always recognise it because if you ask me what my style is, I’m really not that sure.” Really? “Really.

Actress Famous Models

Actress Famous Models

It wasn’t until I started to work for Gucci in the Nineties that it started to become mature women clear to me. And that’s because Tom Ford was pushing me to do the dark eye make-up, to wear high heels and to keep things very simple and lean.”

The difference between Roitfeld’s late epiphany and my fitness model style adjustments is that no one has ever, to my knowledge, copied my style, whereas fashion is definitely doing a Carine this season. “Good,” she says, when I call her in her Paris office. “It will help me with my shopping, because sometimes it’s only when you see a new interpretation that you recognise what you are.”

Unless you are a high court judge or, perish the thought, an infrequent visitor to these mature women pages, you will know that Roitfeld is the Editor of French Vogue, a magazine so fashion-y that it still features pregnant women smoking cigarettes in its shoots. Actually it wasn’t a real pregnant woman. It was a model, Lily Donaldson, wearing a prosthetic bump. But the message was almost as confrontational as if she had been Madonna with child (Christ, not Lourdes or Rocco, that is) — ie, let them smoke fags. If French Vogue were a person it would be Marie Antoinette. And if Roitfeld were a magazine she would be, well, French Vogue, so closely does it embody her sense of chic.

Notwithstanding the actress famous loftiness of Roitfeld’s perch, it is unusual for a magazine editor’s personal style to exert so much influence over fashion. Yet exerted it has been. It is not merely a case of the designers whom Roitfeld has championed personally — Christophe Decarnin at Balmain, for instance, or Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy — paying tribute to her distinctively angular, tailored aesthetic, although they have.

Other designers, some unexpectedly, have fallen into line, too. Donna Karan has the skinny pencil skirts and mannish jackets. Derek Lam has the impeccable oversized, tailored camel coats. Sophia Kokosalaki, Jil Sander and Bottega Veneta have the agency models fitted shift dresses. Ferré, Preen, Loewe, Burberry Prorsum, Fendi and Jason Wu have done the shaggy, big — and I mean big, so out of my way — coats. It almost goes without saying that they are all pushing big shoulders and a whole lot of black.
